This Bud's for you, Astros fans.

Three-year-old David Stefan Norris sat with his parents, uncle and grandfather at a local eatery the family was fond of and listened as his elders gave their drink orders.

"I want a Bud," his dad said.

"I want a Bud," his uncle said.

"I want a Bud," his grandfather said.

So David fell in line with the rest of the Norris men.

"I want a Bud," he said.

His mother quickly stepped in, telling the waitress her son was, obviously, too young to drink. "He's my Bud Man," Mom said. The name stuck. From then on, David was no longer David. He was Bud.

On Sunday, Bud Norris, named after a beer, was named by the Cardinals broadcasting team as the s"Bud" player of the game, and he earned his first Major League win, at, of all places, Busch Stadium. Sometimes, the truth really is better than fiction.

Norris had a no-hitter through five innings during his first big league start Sunday, and he finished his sterling seven-inning start having allowed just two hits against one of the best lineups in the National League. He also figured out a way to retire Matt Holliday, a task that eluded almost every other pitcher who faced him during the three-game series against the Cardinals.

Norris showed he can compete at this level. As time progresses and teams have access to scouting reports and video, we'll see if he's successful in making the necessary adjustments required of every young pitcher who wants to stay in the big leagues. I think you're going to see him around for a while.

Cute story! What a refreshing day! This kid is everything
we thought he would be......THANK GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!
He will "fit" in very nice in the rotation........hopefully for a
LOOOOOOOOONG TIME!

Congrats to Bud, today was a day full of hope. Hope for Norris to continue on, to be able to make adjustments and stick with the club. Hope for a turnaround and a winning streak. Hope that the front office will learn a lesson and stop hanging on to tired veterans that don't have it anymore and give our young guys a real chance (it worked out okay with Pence and Norris I believe).
